We wanted a name kids would actually want to say themselves, one that might even make them giggle a little. Not necessarily a name to please parents. Joep came up with Zappie, we said it out loud, and it stuck. We tried it out on our nephews and some kids from the neighborhood, and they loved it right away. And that's exactly the point: for kids, something has to feel right first. The explanation comes later.
